Our Privacy Policy
Statusdesk (“Statusdesk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Bijli LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Bijli LLC,” “Company”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website and application at statusdesk.app (the “Service”), including when account holders (“Users”) send status updates to their clients and customers (“Recipients”) through magic-link portals. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Information You Provide Directly
Account information: name, email address, password (or authentication credentials), company name, and billing information.
Content you create: status updates, messages, attachments, images, links, and any other content you upload or input into the Service (“Update Content”).
Recipient information: names, email addresses, and any other contact details you provide for the clients/customers you send updates to.
Communications: information you provide when you contact us for support, feedback, or other inquiries.
Information Collected Automatically
Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps, click activity, and referring URLs.
Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and access times.
Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Information About Recipients
When a User sends an update, we generate a unique “magic link” allowing the Recipient to access a personalized portal without a traditional password. We collect the Recipient’s email address (provided by the User), authentication events (e.g., when a magic link is requested, sent, and used), and portal activity (e.g., updates viewed, timestamps). Recipients typically interact with the Service based on the relationship between them and the User, not directly with us.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating and delivering magic links and portals.
Create and manage User accounts.
Process payments and manage subscriptions.
Send administrative communications (e.g., service notices, security alerts, billing notices).
Send marketing communications, where permitted, with an option to opt out at any time.
Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve the Service.
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell Update Content or Recipient information to third parties.
Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process personal data under the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you’ve signed up for.
Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent — for optional cookies and marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time.
Legal obligation — where processing is required to comply with applicable law.
How We Share Information
We may share information with:
Service providers/subprocessors: third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics, and customer support tooling. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Legal compliance and protection: where required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bijli LLC, our Users, Recipients, or the public.
With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time information is collected.
We do not share Recipient information with other Users or third parties outside the scope necessary to operate the Service.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Update Content and Recipient information are generally retained for the duration of the User’s account plus 90 days after account closure, unless a longer retention period is required by law or requested by the User.
Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption in transit, access controls, and magic-link tokens that are time-limited and single-use where feasible. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Request portability of your data.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Opt out of marketing communications via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us at admin@statusdesk.app. If you are a Recipient and wish to exercise rights over information a User has submitted about you, we may direct your request to the relevant User.
California Residents: You may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in and maintain session security, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used (analytics). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service, including magic-link authentication.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
International Data Transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers of personal data.
Our Role Regarding Recipient Data
For Update Content and Recipient contact information submitted by Users, Bijli LLC generally acts as a service provider/data processor, and the User acts as the data controller. Users are responsible for:
Ensuring they have a lawful basis and any necessary consents to share Recipient data with us.
Responding to Recipient requests regarding their personal data, with our reasonable assistance.
If you are a Recipient with questions about how your data is used, please contact the User (business) who sent you the update directly.
Third-Party Links
The Service or Update Content may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (such as email or an in-app notification).
